NEWS  ADMINISTRATION

Mrs Caroline Galea

It has been another busy term with our Prep - 2 students finishing the last day with their last day of swimming. Thank you to all the staff involved during the last two weeks and all the parents who have come along to help out. While there has been much excitement, learning and fun from the children's perspectives I am sure all parents are happy to see the back of washing and drying of swimming gear each night.

Tomorrow is the last day of school for the term and it is a normal 3:20pm finish. We also have AFL football dress up day, with a gold coin donation raising money for the My Room charity (more information below).

AFL Footy Day

Gold Coin Donations to support ‘My Room’

We greatly appreciate and thank our wonderful P&F in supporting our school’s participation to raise funds for ‘My Room’, a Children’s Cancer Charity, by being part of ‘Footy Day with a Purpose’. That purpose is to raise money to help My Room’s work in supporting children going through cancer, as well as support their families. The charity relies on the generosity of wonderful donors to fund support for children with cancer and their families, medical equipment, clinical care, and research and trials with a mission to cure childhood cancers.

Our school has been raising funds for ‘My Room’ for many years and this year we are joined by many other Primary Schools in Victoria to promote the importance of children helping other children.

‘My Room’ has a long standing collaboration with the AFL and many of the clubs and players. The grand total of the funds raised by all schools involved with this new initiative ‘Footy Day Parade with a Purpose’ will be acknowledged live on the ‘Footy Show’s Grand Final Week, My Room Telethon’ on Channel 9, in the week of the Grand Final. We are proud to be able to help and support this wonderful charity.

To help this wonderful cause we ask you to please send some gold coin donations, to school with your children, on our Footy Day this Friday. The money can be handed to their teacher. This money will go directly to help children going through cancer. We greatly appreciate your generosity in helping out as much as you can.

Thank you very much for your generosity and support!
