In STEM, students are exploring the fascinating world of Earth and Space Science
Foundation - Grade 1/2
Our F-2 students learnt about the International Space Station this week. They learnt about all of the different experiments and work that astronauts are currently doing and discussed the effects that low gravity has on the human body.
Students discovered that it is tough to send supplies and humans to the ISS as they have to be very careful when connecting to the station. Here are some photos of our Foundation students completing an experiment where they had to work together to land the 'spaceship' on the 'station'.
Grade 3/4
Our Grade 3/4 students have finished their rockets and today was launch day! They focussed on making their bottles aerodynamic to gain more height. Students had to understand the physics behind rocketry and select the correct amount of water to put into the bottle to allow a successful launch. Here are some photos of our Grade 3/4 launch!
Grade 5/6
Our Grade 5/6 students have continued their Mars Colony Project using TinkerCAD to 3D model. All students in Grade 5/6 have been impressive in learning about 3D modelling software with open and curious minds. Here are some photos of some of our projects printing on our brand-new 3D printers!
I cannot believe another Term has passed. The year seems to be flying by! The students across all year levels have been working hard during the past fortnight to finish up projects and tasks that were incomplete. During this week, if all of their pieces were completed, students were able to have some free choice in the Art room. Some students used clay, some chose to follow along with guided drawing and others liked free choice drawing.Â
Thank you all for a super fun term, I look forward to starting a brand new unit next term together :)Â
As students are finishing the term, they have been enjoying a range of new games and refining their physical education skills.

Last week Foundation students were excited to be taken up to the oval to use the freshly renovated Gaga Pit, as they learned the rules to the game and practiced their dodging skills. This week students demonstrated that they remembered the rules, knew how to play fairly, and showed that they could have fun and be a good sport even when they went out.
Grades 3 - 6s have been able to enjoy a variety of activities of their choosing, including Gaga Ball, Basketball, Downball and Soccer. Students have been able to show their understanding of game rules, and have been in charge of running their own games while Miss Sheppard supervises (and occasionally referees). It has been a very positive end to the term to see how well students have understood all of the game rules they have learned throughout the year, and can play cooperatively and safely together.
