STEAM

STEAM in Term 4: Robots, Drones, and Coding Adventures!

Get ready for an action-packed Term 4 in STEAM, where every grade will dive into thrilling coding and robotics challenges! Our students are about to embark on incredible adventures, using their problem-solving skills, creativity, and teamwork to tackle a series of coding tasks across a variety of exciting robots and drones.

Our Foundation students will take their first steps into the world of robotics, partnering up to program and control Blue-Bot robots. They’ll learn how to steer their robots through mazes using the app, unlocking the magic of basic coding!

In Grade 1, the challenges heat up as students revisit Blue-Bot, mastering more advanced features to navigate obstacles and solve tricky puzzles. These young coders are becoming problem-solving pros as they guide their robots on increasingly complex missions.

Grade 2 students will level up by working with Sphero Bolt robots, using block coding to command their speedy bots. They’ll be coding for precision as they navigate their Spheros through indoor courses, adjusting speed, direction, and events to complete thrilling tasks.

Grade 3 is set for an even bigger challenge! They’ll be tackling advanced block coding with Sphero Bolt, pushing their robots to the limit as they conquer new driving feats and event-based programming.

In Grade 4, students will take coding to the next level, combining block and text coding to guide their Spheros through tough courses. These budding tech experts will apply their knowledge in exciting ways, navigating challenges and creating custom solutions.

The excitement doesn’t stop there! Grade 5 will explore Swift Playgrounds, learning to develop their very own iPad apps from scratch, while Grade 6 will soar to new heights by coding DJI Ryze Tello drones, launching them on aerial missions using Tynker.

It’s going to be an electrifying term full of coding, robots, and endless discovery! We can’t wait to see our students in action!
