Celebrating the growth in our wonderful children on each learning level...

Prep

As we reach the end of the year, the Prep Team would like to thank our students and families for a truly memorable year.  What an incredible journey our Prep students have been on. We are so proud of their amazing achievements and the growth in learning they have shown throughout the year. Each student has flourished, showing resilience in overcoming challenges, an eagerness to explore new concepts and a genuine love for learning. We are so excited to see the Prep students step towards the new adventure of Year 1 in 2025.

Year 2

What a lovely year it has been in Year 2! From making new friendships and learning new concepts to wonderful experiences, including excursions and in-visits. Throughout all of it, our students have approached them with a smile, enthusiasm and the ability to embrace mistakes as learning opportunities. We are so proud of our amazing Year 2 cohort!

As a Year 2 team, we would like to express our gratitude for your support this year. It has been a pleasure to work in partnership with you to make your child's Year 2 experience the best it can be. Wishing our Year 2 community all the best for 2025.

Year 3

What an amazing and jam-packed year it has been in Year 3! The Year 3 team would like to thank all of our students and their families for such a successful year. From helping us out with excursions and Camp, to supporting your children in completing their homework each week, we couldn’t have done it without you!

We are so grateful for the Year 3 community here at SMPS. We wish all students and their families all the best in 2025.

Year 4

This term, Year 4 students have been writing narratives, focusing on key story elements such as character, setting, problem, feeling, plan, attempt, consequence, ending, and end feeling. They’ve also been challenged to write like Year 5s by using descriptive adjectives, varied punctuation, and complex sentences to enhance their storytelling. The students have practised typing their narratives and publishing them just like real authors. We’re so proud of their hard work and creativity, which have led to impressive progress this term!

Year 5

In Year 5, we have just finished our final novel for the year, The Girl of Ink and Stars, marking a wonderful conclusion Literacy unit. We explored rich narratives, thought-provoking themes and connected with diverse characters. It has been amazing to see everyone’s reading fluency improve with each chapter we read. This story allowed the Year 5’s to delve into the maps, mysteries and adventures woven throughout the book. Finishing The Girl of Ink and Stars has been a proud moment, celebrating all the hard work and joy that comes with reading in Year 5.

As the year draws to a close, the Year 5 teachers would like to thank our families for your continued support throughout the year. The Year 5 students have grown and flourished and this would have not been possible without your help. We wish them the best of luck heading into their final year of primary school, Year 6!

Year 6

What a week it has been for Year 6! On Monday, we celebrated finishing Primary School by heading to Gravity Zone, where students enjoyed bouncing on over 180 trampolines, playing laser tag and enjoying a special treat from the canteen.

On Thursday, Year 6 students received their Primary School Certificates at a beautifully sentimental Graduation Ceremony. The Year 6 teachers, and all teachers who have taught the cohort over the years, could not be proude of this incredible group of humans and the bright futures they each have ahead of them. A special thank you to all the teachers and parents who supported in making Graduation such a success. Congratulations to the graduating class of 2024!
