From the Principal

Benvenuto - Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am very excited to be writing my first newsletter report as the principal of St Anne's College. It has been a wonderful first two weeks. The staff students and families have been extremely welcoming and have made me feel at home.

I am astounded by the beautiful facilities that St Anne's College has to offer.  Every corner I turn there is another unique learning space, piece of art or amazing design features. It really is a beautiful school environment. I was blown away when I had a tour of the construction site for our new building this week. The technology areas will be first class with facilities such as a robotics lab, Metal and woodwork rooms, visual design and numerous classrooms. The building works are ahead of schedule and due to be opened early next year.

School Structure

All parents and carers received an email during the week regarding adjustments to the school structure. The most significant change for St Anne’s College is the move from the current three-school model to a Primary (F-6) and Secondary (7-12) structure. Please contact the College if you did not receive a copy of this letter.

Into the Woods

As many of you know this week saw four performances of the school production Into the Woods. Performing arts play a vital role in the development of our young people, giving them an opportunity to express themselves and share their talents with others. And we certainly saw that in abundance this week! Congratulations to the cast for their exceptional performances. Your dedication and hard work during rehearsals has resulted in an A Grade production. Thank you to everyone who played a part, especially Mel Kemp our musical director, producer Amanda Borysiewicz, stage manager Jo Wall, head usher Sarah Baglin and the many other staff members who volunteered to assist. Everyone should be very proud of what was a showcase of great talent. Well done everyone - after four nights in a row you will sleep well this weekend!

Year 12 Students

Our Year 12 students are getting towards the pointy end of high school and exam practice has been taking place over the last week. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they get closer to their VCE exams.

We are having a College mass to farewell our Year 12 students next Tuesday 22 October at 1.15pm. It will be a wonderful way to celebrate their successes and wish them all the best for upcoming exams and their future post high school. Family and friends of all students are welcome to attend.

2025 College Captains

I was very impressed by the quality of students who were interviewed for college captain positions. I am confident that the students chosen will lead our school with great influence. We are looking forward to announcing the College and House captains at our mass on Tuesday.
