A Note from the Board Chair

Come and join us tonight - Thursday 17 October - for the Extra General Meeting of the Association. We warmly welcome Parents to come and hear more about the governance of MECS and how can Parents partner in Association membership.

At our last Board meeting we:

  • received reports from the Principal on all areas of operation. Of special note was work of the Teaching and Learning team. The introduction of a concise framework for curriculum development by way of 7 threads will enhance the practices in the Christian classroom.
  • received a report from the Director of Ranges TEC. Of special note was the answer to prayer in provision of a new home room teacher for Year 10 in 2025.
  • finalised the 'Draft Budget' for 2025 which will be presented to the Association at the EGM. This included discussion on EPI fee increases for 2025 and how these changes may impact our parent body.
  • ratified the appointments of our new Head of Primary and Head of Secondary. The Board are delighted and are fully supportive of our 2025 Executive Leadership Team.
  • discussed the CEN Conference being held in Melbourne towards the end of 2024 as further governance training for the Board.

Thank you to the Association for entrusting us with the responsibility to govern the school. It is an honour to serve God in this way.
