Art Space

Hi All,
Here is a summary of the exciting activities students have been involved in over the past couple of weeks:
Foundation:
Visual Art - Learning to draw regular shapes to create a cityscape artwork then learning watercolour techniques to paint their cityscape.
Performing Art - Focusing on learning how to dramatize emotions and characters from stories by changing their faces and bodies.
Year 1 & 2:
Visual Art - Learning how to draw a variety of different shapes to create a cityscape skyline. Students discussed adding details and then used black crayon to outline their work. Different watercolouring techniques were then demonstrated so students could creatively add colour to their artwork.
Performing Art - We are focussing on Drama through a range of stories including The Three Little Pigs, The Gruffalo, and The Magic Paintbrush. Students act out different characters and parts of the stories.
Year 3 & 4:
Visual Art - Students have completed their clay critter (Year 3s) or coil pot (Year 4s) adding underglaze and gloss glaze. We are now turning our attention to a printing project. Students have used coloured dye to create a background and drawn and cut out a city skyline template. More steps to come over the next couple of weeks!
Year 5 :
Performing Arts - The focus this term is on Media Arts. Students have enthusiastically planned a story for a stop motion animation movie, designed a diorama and are now in the process of actually making the movie.
Year 6:
Visual Art - Students are continuing their Tom Fedro Inspired Artwork. Students have learnt how to draw 'normal' and 'abstract' portraits. Oil Pastels are now being used to add colour, shades and depth.
