Principal's Report
Simone Roy
Next week is a shorter week, with the King’s Birthday public holiday on Monday and then a student free day on Tuesday allocated to report writing for teachers.
We are looking forward to seeing our students again on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, after they've had a break from school. Unit 1 exams are also scheduled next week; we know the students will do their best and benefit from this style of assessment.
To all of our school community, have a safe and enjoyable weekend. This is often a favourite time of the year for the snow-loving people in our midst. However, it is also a time where cold and flu are prevalent, cold weather wears spirits down, and the short daylight hours can feel oppressive. Please look after yourselves, check in on each other, and try to take some time on the weekend to rest or do something you enjoy.
Year 9 students had their interview with a Morrisby consultant this week. They received the results of the assessment questionnaire they completed a little while ago, and had key information about their strengths and potential pathways explained to them.
Parents were invited to join in with these online meetings and some participated in this important conversation with their child.
If you missed the interview, but would still like to hear a summary about what information was provided, please contact Jo Macklan to organise a time to talk. It is so pleasing to see the Department putting such a focus on careers and planning for each students’ future. Careers education is an important aspect of schooling. It ensures that students are guided to plan for their future, and know and draw upon their strengths.
