Principal's News

Dear Families and Friends of Trinity Primary School,
As you will have been aware, last week I spent some time with sixteen other Principals from the South Central Region of MACS visiting schools in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. What is remarkable is, that whilst these schools and area are so vastly different to our own, we also have much in common in that our teachers and parents all want the same for our children, and that is a great education in a supportive and caring environment. At each of the schools we visited we were met by dedicated staff and children very proud of their schools and eager to show us around. These schools all have large indigenous populations and transient staff due to the remoteness of the area and so face many challenges we do not. It was encouraging to hear how these schools adapt and manage these challenges in order to provide all the things these children should be entitled to and the things that we can sometimes take for granted. A highlight of our visit was a meeting with Mena, who spent most of her childhood growing up in a Mission Station at Beagle Bay after being taken from her family. Whilst her story was one of great hardship and sorrow it was also one of incredible resilience, perserverance and most importantly, forgiveness.
I thank each of you, and of course my staff, for enabling me to participate in this most valuable experience as there is much I have learnt from these people and their communities that I can bring to my work here at Trinity.
Parents & Friends
Thankyou to all those who have responded to the call out for help with our 2025 Parents and Friends Group (P&F). I do appreiciate that not everyone has the time or capacity to assist on a regular basis and so I thank all those who have said they are happy to help on special occassions or whenever they may be available. Amanda, Melissa and Lisa will welcome this support I am sure.
I have included the Google Form HERE once more in case you have not had the opportunity to respond and ask that you all complete this to share your support for our P&F.
School Advisory Council
Our School Advisory Council will be meeting in the coming weeks and Amanda will now join this team as President of the P&F.
The School Advisory Council provides a forum for discussion and discernment, where the parent/guardian voice and perspective are available to inform and support the decisions made by the Principal and Parish Priest for the good of School and Parish where the wellbeing and outcomes for students is paramount.
The following are some ways the School Advisory Council supports the School and the Principal:
- Promoting the school’s Catholic ethos and culture
- Articulating and enacting the School’s vision and mission
- Promoting faith formation and development
- Capital resource planning and maintenance
- Disseminating information about the School in accordance with these Terms of Reference
- Implementing School policies as required
- Supporting and communicating School and parish matters, including the School annual report
- Giving advice on issues such as enrolments, School improvement plans and enrolment trends
- Engaging in discussion about the annual School budget and other financial matters
- Giving advice about the school Master Plan
I thank the members of our SAC:
Fr Trung - Parish Priest
Mr Ru - Staff Representative
Amanda, Melissa and Lisa - Parent Representatives
