YEAR 8 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 9

Year 8 Camp Reflections

Last week, our Year 8 students returned to school after a positive and enriching camp experience on Fitzroy Island. The camp offered students the opportunity to challenge themselves, build connections, and create lasting memories with their peers and teachers.

During Pastoral Group, students were invited to provide feedback on the camp experience. Their responses will help us reflect on what worked well and guide planning for future camps. We are grateful for the thoughtful insights they have shared and look forward to continuing to strengthen our Year 8 program.

Assessment Period – Week 9

With assessment tasks due across a range of subjects next week, Year 8 students are encouraged to stay organised and make the most of their study time. Families are welcome to refer to the Year 8 Term 2 Assessment Planner to help support their child with upcoming deadlines.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant subject teachers.

Uniform and GroomingExpectations

As we approach the end of the term, we appreciate your continued support in ensuring Year 8 students meet the College’s uniform and grooming standards. This includes maintaining appropriate haircuts, wearing the correct uniform each day, and following the school’s jewellery guidelines—such as wearing only permitted items like a watch and small, plain studs or sleepers. These expectations remain in place for the entire term. I appreciate your support in reinforcing these standards at home.

Subject Expo

The subject expo for students and parents/carers in Years 8, 9, and 10 will take place on Wednesday, 16 July. Parents/carers are expected to attend for information about subject selection and career pathways in 2026.

This is a brilliant opportunity for students and parents/carers to obtain specific information regarding subject selections and career pathways in 2026. All Heads of Departments will be available to talk with throughout the event.
