School Holidays Activities

Body Clue Detectives is a fun and engaging therapeutic group program running in the July school holidays to support children with their ability to tune into their body signals.

If a child is having difficulty identifying and interpreting body signals such as hunger, thirst, cold and tiredness, this can lead to frustration and difficulty regulating their emotions as they consequently experience discomfort or have unmet needs they do not understand or communicate.

Over two days, therapists will work directly to build the children’s interoceptive awareness of internal body signals and expressive language to support communication of thoughts and feelings. Children will be learning to understand and recognise how and why their body is feeling dysregulated, and when to use appropriate interoceptive tools to manage these experiences.

Body Clue Detectives will be facilitated by Occupational Therapists with experience working with children and will draw on the current evidence-based interoception curriculum by Kelly Mahler.

The program will run over two days on Wednesday July 10th and Thursday July 11th @ 9.30am - 12.00pm.
