Captains Corner
Welcome to the Captain’s Corner, with Alyssia and Patrick!
Welcome to the first Term 3 Captain’s Corner! We would like to give a warm welcome to our new students Dylon and Alina in year two, Lucas in year 3, and Victor in year 5. We hope your time at St Joseph's is the best!
This week, a few of the year 5 and 6 girls went to the Beachside Netball playoff! The girls who played netball have written a report about the day in a separate section of the newsletter.
At the end of last term as you all know we had FRIENDSHIP FAIR DAY! It was so fun, everyone had a good time and had some great stalls. Also, a big congratulations to everyone who participated in the talent show, all the acts were amazing. If you didn't know, the purpose of Friendship Fair Day is to raise money for our school sponsor child Elli who is now in university! We have been sponsoring her since she was in Prep.
We hope our donations have helped her and her family. Each grade had a stall and we spent about 2 hours going around to different stalls and having fun! The Year 6 stall I helped was face painting and let me say painting on people's faces is very different to a canvas! But everybody had tons of fun that day!
This Friday the Preps celebrate 100 days of Prep! Congratulations to all of them for completing 100 days at St Joseph’s! We hope you have really enjoyed your experience at this wonderful school so far! A special shout out to Alyssia’s buddy Isabel and Paddy's buddy Frankie!
Netball Beachside
Earlier this week on Monday the 22nd of July 2024, the senior girls’ netball team went to the Beachside Netball Division at Stonnington Sports Centre. We all had a great time and tried our best to make new friends and demonstrate good sportsmanship. We worked so hard to get to the Beachside and it was so much fun and we loved every second of it.
We played five teams and we won three out of the five games. It was very stressful but it was very fun .
We trained every lunchtime leading up to it and even put some of our sports time into training and it really helped.
And finally, a BIG thanks to Mr Cleary for training us and being there every step of the way with lots of hope for us.
