Message from the Principal Team

Week 11 Term 2 - We Made It!

As we come to the end of another fantastic school term and reflect on everything we’ve accomplished together as a school community. It’s been a busy few months, but also incredibly productive and rewarding.

We want to say a big thank you to our students, staff, and families for all your hard work and dedication. Your efforts have made this term a time of growth, learning, and lots of fun moments. As we head into a well-deserved break, let’s carry on the spirit of teamwork and positivity that makes our school community so special.

Here’s to an amazing term and to many more exciting adventures together!

Mural on the Accessible Toilet Block Update

Melanie and Rick will be back tomorrow to finish the fantastic artwork on our accessible toilet building. We can't wait to see the completed mural, which is sure to bring smiles to our faces when we return to school next term.

Year 3/4 Dioramas Science - Earth and Space

This afternoon, our Year 3/4 students showcased their incredible solar system dioramas (photos to come next term). Additionally, students from class 3/4L collaborated on a paper trail illustrating the distance between the Sun and Mars.

Semester 1 Student Reports

Yesterday, Semester 1 Student Reports were published, which feature teacher assessments aligned with achievement standards. These scores accurately reflect each student's progress across all curriculum areas taught during the reporting period.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teaching staff for their hard work throughout Term 2 in preparing these reports. At CNPS, we are committed to providing diverse forms of reporting student progress to parents. This includes ongoing updates through SeeSaw, Semester Student Reports, parent-teacher interviews, student-led conferences, parent information sessions, weekly updates from teachers, student achievement awards, individual learning plans, student support group meetings, and other meetings as requested by parents. Your partnership in supporting our students' learning journey is greatly valued.

Parent Carer Interviews Term 3

Parent/Carer Interviews are scheduled for Monday, July 22, and Tuesday, July 23. These sessions provide an opportunity for parents and carers to discuss their child’s progress with teachers and explore their next steps in learning. Tomorrow, we will activate the booking system on Compass to ensure parents and carers have ample time to secure their preferred interview timeslot. Look out for a Compass notification announcing when booking for interviews will be available.

Onsite Emergency Evacuation Drills

This week, we conducted two emergency evacuation drills on-site. As per Department of Education guidelines, schools are required to carry out these drills at least once per term. These exercises provide valuable opportunities for staff to practice their emergency response roles and for students to familiarize themselves with the procedures.

Our first drill took place on Monday, and based on staff feedback, additional practice was deemed necessary. Therefore, we conducted a second drill today to ensure readiness and preparedness.

If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.

Early Finish Tomorrow - Change of Lunchtime

Just a reminder that tomorrow, we will finish school at 2:30 p.m. This change in schedule means that our day's timetable will be adjusted accordingly: students will have lunch at 12:30 p.m. followed by playtime from 12:40 to 1:30 pm. Lunch orders will proceed as usual, and our Assembly will be held at 2:10 pm.

Staff News

Several CNPS staff members will be extending their holiday break during these school holidays. The following staff will be taking an additional week of leave and will return to school in Week 2. Leave requests are submitted well in advance, and in some cases, holidays were planned and booked before their employment at the school. As we strive to employ the best possible staff at CNPS, we accommodate these requests whenever possible.

  • Sophie H. will be absent for Week 1 and will be substituted by Emily Razay and Dean Banova.
  • Susie will be absent for Week 1 and Ben* will replace her, as Leah is embarking on a journey across Australia. Tomorrow, we bid farewell to the wonderful Leah.
  • Abigail will be absent for Week 1, and Dina will continue to teach in FJ's classroom.
  • Billy will be absent in Week 1 and will be replaced by Olivia Di Cello.
