Foundation Students: Mastering Letters and High Frequency Words

Our youngest learners in Foundation have been busy exploring the world of letters and words. They are making great strides in recognizing and writing their letters, as well as learning some key words. These high-frequency words are the building blocks of reading and writing, and it’s wonderful to see our Foundation students developing their literacy skills with such excitement and confidence.

Grade One & Two Students: Building Research Skills by Summarising Information

Our Grade One and Two students have been developing the critical skill of finding key information in both books and websites, and then summarising it in their own words. Balancing the use of iPads with traditional books, they have been navigating between digital and print sources to extract essential details. This blended approach not only enhances their research skills but also develops their comprehension.

Grade Three & Four Students: Sharing Knowledge Through Information Reports

In Grades Three and Four, our students have been immersed in researching and writing information reports about animals. Recently, they had the opportunity to share their reports with the Grade One and Two students. It was a delightful experience for everyone involved! The MLC students presented their findings with pride, while the younger students listened attentively and asked insightful questions. This peer-to-peer interaction not only reinforced the MLC students’ knowledge but also helps them develop important public speaking skills.

Grade Five and Six Students: Creating 3D Scenes of Natural Disasters

Our senior students in Grades Five and Six have been working diligently on an exciting project that combines creativity with scientific understanding. They are creating 3D scenes of natural disasters, such as avalanches, tsunamis, and volcanoes. This hands-on project allows them to apply their knowledge of natural phenomena in a tangible and engaging way. The students have shown impressive ingenuity and collaboration in bringing their scenes to life, and we can’t wait to see the final results when they display and share information about them with the MLC students.

These diverse learning activities highlight our commitment to fostering a rich and varied educational experience for all our students. It is truly inspiring to witness the enthusiasm, creativity, and hard work of our students across all grade levels.

Kind regards,
