Thank you to all teachers, parents and carers for helping, supporting and cheering on our CEPS teams. |
We have been fortunate yet again to have specialised coaches come to CEPS through the Sporting Schools grant. This time it has been netball skills and drills provided by Netball Victoria. Our very own Tara Shimmin has been running the clinics. The classes have been engaged in various warm up exercises, throwing and catching, attacking and defending as well as fun games. A game of netball finalises the 4 weeks of netball.

Thank you to everyone for dressing up yesterday and for your generous donations. We are thrilled to announce that we raised over $400 for the Dolphin Research Institute!
We loved the creativity and hard work of our students who participated in the World Ocean Day poster competition. Our oceans are incredibly important, and it’s wonderful to see how many of you used your artistic talents to help raise awareness about protecting them.
We had so many amazing entries, and it was tough to choose the winners. Well done to the following students:
For everyone who entered the competition, thank you for your participation and creativity. You can collect your posters from the Year 2 classrooms next week.
Thank you, everyone, for celebrating World Ocean Day with us.
Hudson from Living Culture visited the Year 3’s to show them artefacts and plants used by Boon Wurrung people; the Country in which CEPS is located. He discussed the significance of these artefacts and plants, how and, from what, the artefacts were made, and how they are used. Our Year 3 students were completely engaged in this interesting incursion. They handled and studied the artefacts and asked lots of well thought out questions about the First Nations people and their history and culture. This incursion was part of Humanities unit on the diversity and longevity of Australia’s First Nation peoples and the significant ways they are connected to Country and Place and the effects on their daily lives.
Thank you, Hudson and Living Culture.
The CEPS school trivia night is coming up in August. We are looking for local businesses, including those run by CEPS families, to consider donating a voucher to support our school fundraiser. If you are interested in donating to CEPS for our school trivia night, please contact cepsparentscommittee@gmail.com.
