Happy Holidays
Happy Term 2 holidays! Stay safe and well during this well-deserved break. This message comes a week early as my wife Rosanne and I will be flying out to California this Saturday morning for a week's Long Service Leave, coinciding with the school holidays. Our adventure will start with a visit to the breathtaking Yosemite National Park, followed by some fun-filled days in Santa Clarita and Anaheim, enjoying the theme parks.
Reflecting on this term, it has indeed been busy. From the 3/4 Swimming Program, numerous exciting, yet educational, excursions and incursions, Year 6 Camp, Cross-Country, Senior Interschool Sport, Mothers and Special Friends' Day, Walk Safely to School Day, District Girl's Soccer and so much more. A huge shout out to our amazing staff for continuing to provide the highest level of school experience for every student.
Please note that school will conclude at 2.30pm on Friday 28th.
Following the break, I eagerly anticipate another engaging term as we move into the second half of the year. Have a wonderful holiday, and I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for Term 3!
Staffing Update
I am pleased to announce two staffing updates that will take place during Term 3. Mrs Cecil of Class 4B will be commencing her family leave in early August, and Mrs Douglas, an accomplished teacher with over a decade of experience at our school, will be taking over her role. Mrs Douglas currently works in Literacy Intervention and is well-acquainted with many of the students, ensuring a smooth transition.
Additionally, Mrs Harris will also be on family leave starting mid-late August. Mrs Price will move across full-time to 2A, while Mrs Uhe will assume full-time responsibilities for 2B. Both teachers are strongly committed to maintaining the highly quality academic and social/emotional support for all Year 2 students.
I appreciate your continued support as we navigate these transitions and are confident that our students will continue to thrive under the guidance of their dedicated teachers.
Asphalting Works
You may have noticed some new patches of asphalt have recently appeared recently around the school grounds. We have completed some asphalting works to address some of the most concerning uneven surfaces. As always, the safety of our community is paramount.
Semester 1 Reports and Teacher, Parent/Caregiver and Student Conferences
A reminder that next Tuesday 25 June wewill be holding a pupil-free day to facilitate Teacher, Parent/Caregiver and Student Conferences. Bookings are currently live on Sentral. Please see the attached document for more information about the conferences and how to book a time. Families who meet regularly with their child/ren's teacher for IEPs or SSGs are not required to book a time. We encourage families to have reviewed the report before attending.
Please be advised that Miss Boucher will not be available for interviews on this day and communication will be available early in Term 3 with dates and times for 6B.
