Cross Country - Whittlesea Finals

 

I have some fantastic news to share about our Whittlesea cross-country team! Three amazing girls earned a spot in this prestigious race, and I couldn't be prouder of their achievements. A huge congratulations to Aicha, who placed 6th in the Girls 11's category and made it into the Northern Metropolitan finals! What an incredible accomplishment, Aicha! We know you'll represent us proudly in the next stage. Pearl and Kathy also gave outstanding performances. Pearl finished 20th in the Under 11's category, and Kathy came in 18th in the Under 12's category. Both of them showed incredible determination and spirit throughout the race. 

 

Let's celebrate these wonderful achievements. 

Great job, girls! Your hard work and dedication is truly inspiring.

This week, our teams faced tough competition against Epping PS across multiple winter sports, showing great effort and sportsmanship.

 

Soccer

Score: Lalor East PS 0 - 3 Epping PS (Loss)

Highlights: Despite the loss, our soccer team demonstrated strong defence and determination throughout the match.

 

Netball A (Girls)

Score: Lalor East PS 12 - 11 Epping PS  (Win)

Highlights: The girls' team secured a narrow victory with impressive teamwork and strategic plays.

 

Netball B (Mixed)

Score: Lalor East PS 4 - 9 Epping PS (Loss)

Highlights: Our mixed team put up a valiant effort, with several players showing notable performances.

 

Volleyball (Boys)

Score: Lalor East PS 1 - 2 Epping PS (Loss)

Highlights: The boys' team fought hard, with some standout serves and spikes.

 

Volleyball (Girls)

Score: Lalor East PS 2 - 0 Epping PS (Win)

Highlights: The girls' team dominated their match with excellent coordination and powerful attacks.

This week, our winter sports teams faced off against St. Catherine’s PS in a series of exciting matches. Here’s a roundup of the results and highlights:

      

Soccer       

Score: Lalor East PS vs. St. Catherine’s PS: 2-11 (Loss)        

Highlights: Despite a tough match, our soccer team showed great determination and teamwork. They faced a strong opponent but kept their spirits high throughout the game.

       

Volleyball Boys' Team 

Score: Lalor East PS vs. St. Catherine’s PS: 2-1 (Win)

A thrilling match saw our boys’ team emerge victorious with a 2-1 win, showcasing their excellent skills and coordination.         

 

Volleyball Girls' Team: 

Score: Lalor East PS vs. St. Catherine’s PS: 2-0 (Win)        

Highlights: Dominating the court, our girls’ team secured a convincing 2-0 win, demonstrating superb teamwork and strategy. 

    

Netball Girls' Team (A) 

Score: Lalor East PS vs. St. Catherine’s PS: 15-5 (Win) 

Highlights: An impressive performance by our girls’ team led to a solid 15-5 win, reflecting their hard work and dedication.    

     

Netball Mixed Team (B) 

Score: Lalor East PS vs. St. Catherine’s PS: 6-6 (Draw)

Highlights: The mixed team played a closely contested game, ending in a 6-6 draw, showing great effort and sportsmanship.

Lalor East PS faced off against Lalor Gardens in a series of exciting winter sports matches for our final round of winter matches. Here’s a quick summary of the outcomes and highlights:

 

Soccer: Lalor East PS 1 - 7 Lalor Gardens

Our soccer team played with great determination but faced a tough opponent, ending with a 7-1 loss.

 

Netball (Girls): Lalor East PS 7 - 12 Lalor Gardens

Netball (Mixed): Lalor East PS 6 - 9 Lalor Gardens

The girls’ and mixed netball teams both put up strong efforts but ultimately fell short in their respective matches.

 

Volleyball (Girls): Lalor East PS 2 - 0 Lalor Gardens

Volleyball (Boys): Lalor East PS 2 - 0 Lalor Gardens

Both the girls’ and boys’ volleyball teams secured impressive 2-0 victories, showcasing their skills and teamwork.

 

Looking Ahead:

This was the last game of the winter season, we are incredibly proud of our teams for their efforts and achievements throughout the term. The dedication and sportsmanship displayed by all our players have been commendable.

 

Due to the end of the season, there will be no training on Thursday, 27/06/24. 

We encourage everyone to take this time to rest and recharge.
