Digital Technologies

There is lots happening in Digital Technologies at Belmont HS!

In the classroom:

Our Year 7’s are exploring the Micro:bit devices and learning all about digital systems, data and block coding. With the Micro:bit, they are making games and collecting sound, light and moisture data.

Our Year 8’s are learning to code in Python. Solving game-based challenges in Code Combat as well as designing and creating digital images using code. Can you pick which image the code below will produce?? Soon they’ll be working in teams to create a website for a fictional event.

Year 9 & 10 Semester 2 subjects have begun – Games Programming and Computer & Web Applications. Students studying Living in a Digital World recently studied Artificial Intelligence, creating their own Machine Learning apps – using interesting datasets to train a model to make a decision, prediction or recommendation.
