Dear Families,

What an exciting start to Term 3 we’ve had, with our move into the newly refurbished spaces! The builders did a fantastic job over the past two weeks to prepare everything for Day 1. Both the children and staff are thrilled with the new environments, and they quickly settled in and began their learning by 9:30 am. Please ask your children about their new spaces and the positive difference they’re making for them.

We’re looking forward to sharing these new spaces with you on Monday during our 3-Way Conference Day. This day is a variation from the regular school schedule, and every child is expected to attend their scheduled conference time to share their learning with their family. Children who do not attend their conference will be marked as absent for the day. For families needing childcare, School’s Out will be operating all day.

I’d like to extend a big thank you to our students and staff for their preparation and patience as we’ve navigated the space building project and the AC installation. By the end of this term, the entire school will be equipped with air conditioning. Our students have shown remarkable resilience, and both staff and families have done a great job supporting them through these changes. Well done, everyone!

Swimming

Year 1 students have done a fantastic job at swimming this week. A big thank you to the staff and volunteers who have supported this program.

Dance

Our special dance program has begun this week, and we are thrilled about the dances that the whole school will be learning throughout the term. The Dance Showcase is scheduled for Thursday, September 19th. We look forward to seeing the students’ performances!

NAPLAN

Our individual NAPLAN results have arrived. Year 3 and 5 families will receive their results during the 3-Way Conferences on Monday. We are very pleased with the progress shown by many of our Year 5 students and the strong performance of our Year 3 students. Once the School Council has reviewed the overall trends for Keelonith Primary, we will share these insights in the next newsletter.

New Newsletter Format

This term, we are also introducing our new online Newsletter. It will still be called the Fly High Fortnightly, and you will continue to receive an email notification each time a new edition is released. Please make sure to read the newsletter each fortnight and refer to it for information about upcoming events.

Keep learning and we are excited to show you our new spaces on Monday.
