Wantirna District Winter Sport Achievement

We are so incredibly proud of our Year 5 and 6 students and the manner in which they dedicated themselves to achieving success on their second day of games and in the Finals.

Our school made a dominant performance at the Winter Sport competition this year. Students demonstrated our key “REPS” acronym throughout the competition in the round robin and finals matches.

REPS stands for RESPECT, ENJOYMENT, POSITIVE, SPORTSMANSHIP and their representation of St Simon the Apostle was exemplary within their games.

We wish to share the success of our students below:

A.F.L. Boys - 1st overall Premiers

  •  We went really well as a team and helped each other out kicking goals which made us undefeated! (Alex Zaharopoulous)

Fully Loaded Tee Ball Girls 1st overall Premiers

Netball Girls B- 2nd overall Runner Up

  •  Everyone had to try a few different positions and I think we all went really well in our roles in the games! We are happy we came second! (Claire Sequeira)

Soccer Boys/Mixed - 3rd overall

  • We tried as hard as we could and went very well representing St Simons! (Jack Young)

Fully Loaded Tee Ball Boys- 3rd overall

  • The boys teeball went well with many of us hitting very far and giving it a go! We had a good second day of games! (Luke White)

A BIG shoutout to our boys in the A.F.L. Boys/Mixed side and their coach Theo and Miss Corrigan for their level of empathy displayed throughout the competition!!! The team ensured other schools enjoyed the scoring experience of the game and gave other teams a “fair go” at participating in the game of footy. This is a fantastic attitude of compassion and collectivism in sport displayed by our school students.

We wish our A.F.L footballers, Soccer Girls, Tee Ball Girls and Netball teams the very best as they advance to the Knox Division competition in a couple of week time on  Tuesday 30th July (Division Soccer and Netball) and Thursday 1st August (Division A.F.L and Tee Ball).

Parent Helpers - THANK YOU!!!

Thank you once again to our dedicated parent helpers. Our hope is that we can use your support again at the Knox Division championships this term as it was invaluable to our students and teams.

Knox Rebel Sport has been a wonderful sponsor of our school in the past and this year. All purchases at this store by parents of the St Simon’s school community provide our school with store credits. These credits are used to provide the school with sporting equipment for sporting activities.

We highly recommend that the next time you visit or purchase an item from Rebel Sport in Knox, ask how to earn credits for our school. Thank you all for your support of our school through our Knox Rebel Sport Community partnership.
