Healthy Habits Workshop

Our Year 10 VM students ran workshops for Year 7’s about the importance of physical activity. This workshop was the final part of a unit titled ‘Healthy Habits’ where students had to prepare a 30-minute interactive workshop to help younger students appreciate how activity is vital to their physical, spiritual and mental health. Thank you so much to Mrs Piening, Miss Farr and Mr Webb for helping coordinate this wonderful program.

VM Into the Wild

Years 11&12 Personal Development Skills students did a sensational job running three half day ‘Into the Wild’ sessions for our Years 5&6 students. They planned activities, organised materials and ingredients and supervised the students as they had a blast playing outdoor games and cooking on a campfire. A huge thank you goes to Mr Justin Mason, Miss Wright and Mr James Siede for helping to make these events possible.

Year 10 Sustainability

The Year 10 Personal Development Skills class recently completed a project building waterproof nest boxes and then mounted them in the water of the north dam. We are hoping that water birds will use these boxes without fear of foxes. The students had to overcome a large range of challenges and difficulties and they did this strategically and in a positive way with their peers. Please feel free to come and visit the site on the north campus.

They also mulched the new eucalypts planted on the north campus, which will be used to help feed the koala population at the Moonlit Sanctuary in the future.

New Animals

We have been blessed with another two lambs, who have been moved in with the young goats in the agriculture area. Many of our students and our ex-student chaplain in training, Sam Green enjoyed visiting our animals recently.

Charlie Stamp Australian Championships

Charlie has always been incredibly humble about his skill and achievement as a Scooter rider and had requested I don’t put anything into the school newsletter in the past. After I nagged him repeatedly, he finally allowed me to put an article into the newsletter about his incredible performance at the national championship. Charlie participated in the open men’s professional class and came second, which is an amazing feat!

This gave Charlie the opportunity to represent Australia later this year in the world championships and we wish him all the best at this event. Charlie has been balancing film shoots, competitions around Australia and in Europe with his VM studies and a school based apprenticeship in plumbing this year so he’s been very busy.
