We are learning to divide an allowance into a simple spending plan.

VOCABULARY

Allowance: 

A set amount of money that has been given to someone for a specific purpose. For example: a weekly payment for doing chores. 

Spending plan:

a method for distributing your given allowance/income among the mix of things you want and need. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Have a discussion with your child about the weekly grocery shopping. 

Give them a hypothetical allowance, e.g. $100. 

Ask them to plan a shop, spending plan for one week by using a catalogue or website from your usual grocery shop, e.g. Woolworths, Coles, Aldi.
