Mackellar Primary School has had a lot of fun celebrating Book Week, with students participating in a range of exciting activities over the past couple of weeks!

Author Visit

We were fortunate to have children's author Tim Harris visit Mackellar on Thursday 17th August to run a series of workshops with students in Grades Prep-6. Tim is the bestselling author of several laugh-out-loud series for kids, including Toffle Towers, Mr Bambuckle’s Remarkables, Exploding Endings and the brand new Ratbags series.

Tim was very entertaining and our students had lots of fun listening to him speak about how he writes his books and why he loves being an author. Be sure to check out some of his books in our school library.

Book Week Dress Up Day

Our annual Book Week dress up day was held on Monday 21st August. Well done to everyone who dressed up as their favourite character and joined in our parade. Thank you to all the members of our school community to came along to the parade to help us celebrate this special event.

Congratulations also to those students whose raffle tickets were drawn out and who won a book prize for the fantastic effort they put in to dressing up.

Perform Education Incursion - Tuesday 29th August

We're looking forward to having Perform Education visit Mackellar once again for a special Book Week performance for students in Grades Prep-5, celebrating this year's theme 'Read, Grow, Inspire'. This performance is a highly interactive musical adventure, giving students the opportunity to explore the 2023 CBCA Shortlisted books.

The cost of this activity is $8, which can be paid through Xuno now.
