Indonesian

Bu Condely

Over the past few weeks our junior students have been learning the Indonesian numbers to 10. We have been practising a song called ‘Sepuluh Bunga’ and rotating around to complete lots of different number activities. These have included building towers, threading, using clay and colouring.

The middle unit have also had a number focus, with students becoming familiar with numbers to 100. A popular activity was the ring toss game, where students had to stand behind point markers and throw the rings at the stand. They had to keep their score in Indonesian. Well done to Theo, Archie and Paisley for earning the most points in their classes.

The upper students had a taste of Indonesia where they enjoyed following a recipe for a Balinese dessert called ‘Bubur Sumsum’. The main ingredients were rice flour and coconut milk. The general consensus was that it was delicious- enak!
