ISA Football
Congratulations to the following Football sides who claimed ISA Premierships after winning their Grand Finals last Saturday at Wanderers Football Park Blacktown: Second XI, Fourth XI, 16 A, 15 A, 14 C, 13 A and 13 B. Commiserations to the 13 E and 14 D on their losses. Special mention to Mr Fochesato (First XI Coach), Alessandro Romeo (First XI Captain) and all members of the First XI Football team who claimed the ISA Division 1 Football Shield win with a victory over Oakhill College. Drawn at one all at full time and then extra time, the match was decided on penalty shoot-outs. All students represented the Blue, Black, Gold with distinction. Finally, well done to all members of the Football fraternity which contributed to SPC retaining the ISA Schools Championship Shield.
ISA Rugby
Well done to our Rugby fraternity for finishing off their season on the weekend. There was a great number of supporters around Breen Oval at 3:15 PM for the kick-off of the First XV fixture. Unfortunately, St Augustine’s were just too strong taking the win and ISA title 38-17. Well done to Mr Fox (First XV Coach), Bryn Williams (First XV Captain) and the entire First XV team on the successful season.
Athletics Squad
Congratulations to Oliver Xuereb and Thomas Brennan who have been appointed as our 2023 Athletics Captain and Vice-Captain respectively. This Saturday these boys will lead the rest of the squad in the first of their three Saturday Invitational Carnivals. All Carnivals will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre (SOPAC).

These Invitation Carnivals are designed to help prepare the squad for the ISA Athletics Championships which will take place on Tuesday 12 September at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre.

Summer Sport Trials
Last week you would have noticed that Summer Sport Sign Ups were called for Baseball, Basketball, Cricket, Golf and Touch Football. Please note Swimming Squad sign-ups will occur later this term with the Swimming season set to commencement at the beginning of Term 4.
I ask that all students trialing for a Summer sport, be aware of their respective trial details. Trials schedules will hopefully be published via the SPC App and sports notice boards by this Friday 25 August. As we progress through the trials for the Summer season it will be evident that some will be very pleased while others will be quite disappointed with their selection. I ask that you have discussion with your son’s if this is the case.
Unfortunately, the College is only able to accommodate a certain number of teams for some sports. As a result, some students will miss gaining selection to represent the College for the 2023/2024 Summer season.
Should you require any further information or have general questions please contact the relevant MIC in the first instance or me:

Congratulations
Samuel Avvenevole (Year 11) has just returned from representing Australia in the World Series Senior Baseball Championships in South Carolina, USA. Team Australia won their first game against Latin-America in an impressive display of teamwork, where Sam caught a massive leftfield hit, halting the opposition to one run that inning. The win was sealed with a double play to first at full stretch to end the game 4-3. Unfortunately, for Sam and his teammates they next faced the undefeated winners, Caribbean team. They played well and kept them to their lowest score in the Championships. A semi-final match up with the Latin-America team again proved a harder game, with several Australian players struck down with a stomach bug. Overall, Team Australia finished fourth in the international team bracket which is a wonderful achievement.
Congratulations and well done Sam.
