Poppy Tribes Monday 14 August, 2023

On Monday the 14th of August we had another wonderful TRIBES session. TRIBES is a time that we come together from different parts of the school to celebrate and support our POPS community.

Our Year 6 students led the session which was focused on ‘Growing Connections’ which is this year’s theme for the National Day of Action Against Bullying. Strong school community connections and social skills are protective factors in prevention of bullying and help enable positive help-seeking behaviours. Students connected with TRIBE members to learn more about them and then looked at what it means to be a good friend. We made friendship trees that will be displayed in the school. Students then discussed what bullying is and how to be an upstander and we hope students have shared their ‘Taking Steps Against Bullying’ hand with you!
