Student Attendance
• Children must be accounted for every school day. If your child is going to be away, please notify the school by entering the absence on Compass. You can do this easily in the Compass app or website. Alternatively, you can call the school absence line by 9 am.
• If your child arrives at school after 9 am (after the morning bell has finished), they must come to the office for a late pass. Please do not send students straight to their classrooms after 9 am.
• If you need to collect your child early for an appointment, please come to the office to sign them out. Please allow time for us to call them up to the office after you have arrived.
• Please collect your child before or after recess and lunch times as they may not hear the announcements during this time.
Working With Children Checks
Park Orchards Primary School has always set high standards and expectations to ensure our school is a safe, happy and productive environment. As part of this commitment to maintaining a child-safe organisation, any parents/carers assisting with activities, e.g. Excursions, PA events, classroom helpers or coming into school buildings, are expected to have shown a valid Working With Children Card and to the school office. Follow this link to apply for WWCC.
Medical Information
Medication Form
If your child requires medication to be administered at school, please complete this attachment and bring the medication to the office.
Asthma
If your child suffers from Asthma, please ensure you provide a plan, spacer and Ventolin.
It is now a requirement that school spacers are single-use only;because of this, we have purchased disposable spacers that come at an individual cost of $8. If your child requires Ventolin and medication and a spacer have not been provided, we will be required to charge parents/guardians $8. A note will be sent home on the day of use. We do not gain any profit from these products.
Anaphylactic/Allergy
Please ensure the office has a current plan completed and signed by your physician within the last year and any medication required within the date.
Family Support
Parents/Guardians with a current Healthcare Card may be eligible to claim the Camps, Sports & Excursions Funding (CSEF) from the Victorian Government. The funding is $125 per child per year. Please collect an application form from the office. Applications close at the end of Term 2 each year.
