NRL @ OHR
Last Friday Len fromMelbourne Storm, an NRL team, came and taught the Grade 5/6 students how to play tag rugby. He taught us how to pass the ball (backwards) and how to run (forwards). We played games such as rapid tag which helped our Rugby skills.
We were very grateful to have Len come to the school and teach us the rules of Tag Rugby before our District Rugby day on Friday 25th August.

Grade 3/4 Soccer Day last Friday 11th July
Soccer day was a fun experience for everyone. No one complained about our teams and we all played fair games. It was a fun day hanging out with my friends and meeting new people from other schools that I don't get to see often. I thought soccer wouldn’t be that fun but when I started playing it, I loved it!

The soccer day was a great day to play a new sport and have a great time with my friends, kick some goals and meet people from different schools. We had an excellent time and can’t wait to have another day like this.

A huge thanks to Mrs Pettinato, Mrs Nikolic and Mrs Mackay for the day.
Sporting Schools - Judo
Sporting Schools is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities. We are thrilled to bring to bring the Olympic Sport of Judo to OHR during Term 3.
We learnt the Japanese words of:
Mate - Stop, Look and Listen no matter what
Hajime - Begin
The Judo program is designed to provide students of all abilities the opportunity to have a successful first experience of Judo in the school environment. Our students from P-6 are having a wonderful experience with the coaches Ryley and Maria who are both National Champions in their age and weight. We are having fun and learning new skills.
How lucky are we!
