The past week has been bustling with activity for our POPS students, staff, and community. A range of fantastic events took place, including the Aussie of the Month Assembly, Cupcake Stall, District Athletics, and Year 5/6 Hooptime. The momentum will carry into next week with GATEways, year 1/2 Excursion, year 3/4 Hooptime, and the year 5/6 Phillip Island Camp. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of these events, ensuring that our students enjoy experiences that truly enhance their time at POPS.
District Athletics
On Monday, selected students from year 3 to 6 represented POPS at the District Athletics Competition held at Bill Sewart Athletics Track in Burwood. We want to extend our congratulations to Team POPS for their outstanding performance, securing the 2nd position overall in the competition. POPS achieved 1st place in the track events, 3rd place in the field events, and 2nd place in the ball games category.
A special acknowledgment goes to Mrs Carbone for her exceptional organisation and dedication to the team's success. We are also grateful to the staff and parents who actively contributed to the smooth running of the day.
POPS Working Bee- Friday Sep 8
The second POPS Working Bee is scheduled for Friday, September 8, from 3:45 to 5:30 pm. The previous Working Bee, held on a Friday evening, was a successful occasion with a strong turnout. Students, parents, and even grandparents stayed after school to contribute. Those who stayed until the end were treated to delicious sausages. Tasks for the upcoming event include general maintenance, tending to the veggie patch, planting, and spreading mulch. Please bring your own gloves, tools, wheelbarrows, and enthusiasm. We're excited to have you join us at the event!
Lamont Book Fair
Our sales totaled $4,844 - a fantastic achievement! This is our largest fair since 2019, resulting in a commission of $1,453.20 for books for our school. Many thanks to Mrs Puckering, parent helpers, and staff for their contributions in ensuring the Book Fair's success for our students and school community.

Hats off to our two Sharks teams for securing spots in the junior football Grand Finals. Their matches are scheduled for this Sunday, and we're sending them our best wishes for success!

Sending warm wishes to all the fathers and special individuals (including uncles and grandfathers) a joyful day this Sunday. Your presence and influence hold immense value as male role models in the lives of our children.
