Please take a look at the special Book Week Parade page and Library pages for photos and information about our fabulous Book Week Parade and activities. We have also added a page for the Atheletics Carnival, Junior Cross Country and Kaboom Sports events!
Maths Olympiad
The following section was written byritten by Michael and Anton, our Grade 6 Academic Captains as part of their community action plan.
The Maths Olympiad had a very nail biting ending. Out of Grainger and Wilson, Gah-Yun from grade 4 was the winner and from Dendy and Gordon Lachie from grade six was the winner. In the final it was first to five the battle was Lachie VS Gah-Yun. Gah-Yun got the first point but then Lachie responded by getting a point making it 1-1. Then Gah-Yun got 2 in a row making it 3-1 but Lachie wasn’t done and got 2 points immediately making it 3-3. Gah-Yun got one so it was 4-3 but then Lachie made it 4-4 with a match point for both people and in the end Lachie won on the equation of 12x9 making it 5-4. The crowd went nuts.
School Sport Victoria and Futsal Victoria Futsal Gala Day
In our first game we played Preston Primary and sadly lost 6-1. We tried our best and came out of that game with a draw 3-3 against Saint Mary’s. The next game was against Toorak Primary Magic. We were up 2-1 and it was half time. Toorak Primary Magic were thumbling their shots and we were so unlucky to concede one goal. Luckily Yianni scored one more goal so the game ended with a score of 3-2. We were then in the semi finals playing a team we had never heard of before, Wales Street Primary sadly we lost 3-1.
The red team's first game was a 2-0 win against Toorak strikers. The second game it was 1-0 to the other team. The second game they unfortunately lost 4-2. The Third game they entered with their heads down after unfortunately losing to a team and the score ended 12-0. The last game, Saint Mary’s scored the first 3 goals and the ref cut the time down to 6 minutes each half, then the red team scored one goal to make it 3-1 and that was full time.

We arrived at the stadium. We entered the building. Soon It was time to play against the other Brighton Beach team. There were five on the pitch. As goalie Lottie saved goals. We lost the second and third game. But Phoebe and Mimi played exceptionally. Then we played St Mary's. At first it was a close game but they beat us, Tavneet still played great in defense. We had made it to the semi finals! In the end we lost. Our whole team played amazing, especially Miller, we all had fun. Special thanks to Mrs McCaffrey and Mr Ancrum for coaching us and taking us to the tournament.
The Red team was full of fantastic players including their captain Tess and their vis captain Maddie. Their first game was against the green team for Brighton Beach although they lost they played exceptionally well. They had a very good defense line, even though Charlotte had never played as goalie she did great. After a short break they played St Marys in that game Tess played outstandingly. And made sure that everyone was having fun They moved into their next match against Toorak where Chloe showed great sportsmanship and Tilly was amazing at getting the ball from the other team.
