Packed with catchy songs, humour, and heart, Finding Nemo Jr. is a show for the whole family and we would love for our Prep to Grade 4 families to come along too.
Our senior students have been working hard on learning lines, rehearsing choreography, and fine-tuning the music, and they can’t wait to share their efforts with the whole TPPS community.
We look forward to seeing you there for an evening of music, colour, and fun.
Grade 4 Bike Education (Bike Ed)
Our Grade 4 students have absolutely loved participating in Bike Ed this week. The Bike Ed program teaches children and young people how to ride bikes safely and responsibly on roads and paths. The program, supported by the Department of Transport and Planning, covers fundamental road safety skills, teaches students about road rules and risks, and aims to promote cycling as a healthy and sustainable form of transport.
Our Grade 4 students have been participating in lessons both inside and outside of the classroom. Indoor sessions have included a bike maintenance session run by one of our parents, Rebecca Lee. Rebecca owns and operates a bike shop. Additional indoor lessons have focussed on road laws and safety. The students have loved getting on their bikes in the playground and learning valuable skills. The Bike Ed program culminated in a ride out to Westerfolds Park on Thursday.
The Grade 4 students have learnt so much and have had an amazing time. A huge thank you to Mr Van Der Pol, the Grade 4 teachers, Mrs Abrey and our parent helpers. We are so pleased we can offer this most important education program to our Grade 4 students.
Prep Excursion to Chesterfield Farm
Our Prep students had a wonderful day out at Chesterfield Farm last week! The children were so excited to meet and feed many different animals, including deer, pigs, cows, goats and camels!
One of the highlights was the tractor ride around the farm, which gave everyone a chance to see even more animals and experience the wide-open paddocks. The students learned about how the animals are cared for and loved having the opportunity to pat and feed them.
It was a fun-filled day of learning and adventure, and we are very proud of the way our students represented our school.
A big thank you to the parents who joined us on this excursion to help make it such a success!
Grade 2 Camp to La Trobe Sports Complex
On Friday 5th September, our Grade 2s set off for an action-packed camp experience at La Trobe Sports Complex, and what a day it was! The students splashed, swung, bounced, and scored their way through water polo, the Tarzan rope, aquatic mat activities, table tennis, mini games, and soccer with unstoppable energy.
The rock-climbing wall was a real highlight, with many students bravely tackling the towering 10 metre wall. Whether they made it halfway or all the way, we were so proud of their determination and courage. Throughout the day, the Grade 2s shone by showing our school values, being fantastic listeners, and bringing endless enthusiasm. It was an unforgettable day filled with laughter, bravery, and teamwork.
A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers for making this day possible!
Sustainability Lunchtime Club
For the past few weeks, the Sustainability Captains, along with a few other Grade 6 helpers, have been hosting a Sustainability Lunchtime Club. It’s held every Tuesday during the first half of lunch, where we do fun crafts, plant seeds, and help out in the garden.
This has had a terrific impact on our gardens and has improved overall sustainability at our school, making it an even more beautiful place.
This week, on the 9th of September, we planted sunflowers and have attached some photos so you can see what we've been up to and watch them grow with us!
The club is open to students in Grades 1–4 and will continue into the start of Term 4. We hope many students will join the Sustainability Club so we can enhance our gardens, not just for ourselves, but for the whole community.
Hope to see you there!
