Mass (Foundation/Year 1/Year 2)
'Growing in Faith' was the theme of the Mass on Wednesday. Father Jithin, beautifully made the link with Sister Julie's famous indoor plant. Sr Julie once had a little pot plant in her office. She went on an extended trip to her home in Nigeria. Nobody in the parish office knew to take care of the plant during her absence. Much later, it was discovered in her office, withered and lifeless. When the plant was given some water and taken outside to get some much needed sun, it came back to life and still continues to grow in the parish office, with regular care!
This is like our Gospel story at the 'Growing in faith' Mass. Jesus told a parable about a fig tree that was not bearing fruit. The owner of the property (representing us) had all but given up on the useless tree but the gardener had other ideas. The gardener suggested giving the tree some care and to dig in some manure so that the tree could bear fruit again. Who do think the gardener represents? And what does this story say about us?
First Holy Communion Update
