Year Five
Spotlight on Learning
Bethany Community
Dear Bethany Families,
We have reached the end of Term 3, it has gone by very quickly! The students have had a busy nine weeks full of learning and fun, and so have the teachers.
On Sunday, the first of the first communion masses took place. Congratulations to those students. This Sunday at 2pm, a few more of our students will complete their first communion. We congratulate them in advance! Congratulations to all of the students who completed their first Holy Communion.

This week we finished our community novel "Thomas Appleby, Convict Boy", and completed writing an information report about Farming In Australia. We also used cartesian planes to plot coordinates and create shapes. It was reflection time in Religion, and the students considered what they had learned about their journey through life with God. Health and Social Emotional Learning concluded with the students reviewing the important parts of their lives which have shaped their personality, and encouraging others by sharing "Characteristics that make you a good friend". In Auslan, the students shared their skills in signing animal characteristics including the name of the animal, its colour, and how it moves or acts.
Thank you for all of your support throughout the term.
