Early Finish

This Friday is the last day of the school term and it just as well. The Cats (Ms Miller's team) are playing the Hawks (Mr Gamble's team) and there can only be one winner.

The finish time on this day is at 2:30 pm. Camp Australia will be providing their after school care services from this time to those children that are booked in.

As advance notice, the finish time on the last day of Term 4, Friday December 19th, is 1:30 pm.

Mr Gamble - Holidays for the first three weeks of Term 4

Mr Gamble is taking the first three weeks of next term off as long service leave. Believe it or not, he is heading up to Queensland to participate in a 100 km running event - and no, that is not a typo. Mr Gamble, we wish you the best and hope that you have a very comfy pair of shoes.

Final Opportunity to participate in the Parent/Carer/Guardian Opinion Survey

A reminder that the Parent/Carer/Guardian Opinion survey closes this Friday the 19th September.

The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families' perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

The survey is completed online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can access at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

A Compass message has been sent again on Sunday 14th September to provide you the information you require to log in to this survey.

We appreciate the time given to provide us with this feedback.

Communication

This week we are sharing information from our Communication between school and our families policy that relates to communication via the telephone.

Telephone Etiquette

  • Telephone calls will be responded to withing two school working days. The response may be via return telephone call, email, or in person.
  • The purpose of the telephone call should be shared with the office staff whenever possible so they are able to direct the call to the correct person and the person responding to the call is prepared.
  • Teachers will not be interrupted during their teaching time. Messages can be left with the office staff who will pass this on to the teacher.
  • All phone communication must be made through the school phones.
  • Communicating using staff personal phone numbers is not appropriate. Any mobile phone communications from staf to parents should be made through the school mobile.
  • Information around telephone communication when a child is on a camp or excursion will be provided to parents/carers.

Common Reasons / Uses for Telephone Communication

  • Communication that is requiring a more immediate response.
  • Where face to face communication is not possible, however, where a more personal approach than email is preferred due to the matter being discussed.
  • To avoid ongoing email chains that may be misconstrued as adversarial.
  • To avoid the use of lengthy emails.
