Ryan’s Rambling

Dear Families,

As we reach the end of Term Three, I couldn’t be prouder of our amazing school, our students, and our community. It has been a term filled with rich learning, community spirit, and many moments of pride.

At our Values Assembly today, our School Leaders reflected beautifully on what has been an incredible term. They reminded us of the many highlights we have shared: from Book Week and our wonderful whole school Read-In, to the colour and creativity of our dress up; from the excitement and energy of our school production, to the fantastic achievements of our students in sport, excursions and classroom learning. Their reflections were a reminder of just how much we have packed into nine short weeks!

A huge congratulations goes to our four School Values Award winners today. These awards are not just about achievements, but about the values we live by at Dana Street: Respect and Care, Responsibility, Inclusion, Tolerance and Understanding, and Excellence. It was inspiring to hear about the ways our students have demonstrated these qualities and the positive impact they are having on their peers and our school culture.  Well done to Rudy, Stevie, Molly and Rosemary.

This term has also seen a wonderful “glow up” of our school. With projects and improvements happening across the grounds and classrooms. These will continue into the school holidays. Our Foyer and Library are already looking fantastic. These changes make our school even more welcoming, and it’s been fantastic to see students, staff and families all noticing and appreciating these updates.

I want to take this opportunity to thank our incredible staff for their ongoing dedication, care and passion. The effort they put into providing high-quality learning and nurturing every child is extraordinary, and I am so grateful for the team we have. To our families, thank you for the many ways you support your children and our school — whether it’s helping prepare costumes, attending events, volunteering your time, or simply encouraging your child each morning — your partnership makes all the difference. And to our students: you continue to impress us with your creativity, enthusiasm, and the way you support one another.

I hope the upcoming holiday break gives everyone the chance to rest, recharge and spend some quality time together. We look forward to welcoming our students back for an exciting Term Four, which promises to be just as full of learning, growth and community spirit.

Warm regards,

Ryan Oliver
