Yr 12 VET Construction- Brick and Block Program
Yr 12 VET Construction students had a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on experience at a brick and block laying program at SFS. The program, delivered over 2 days, generously facilitated by SFS VET teacher, Luke Matthews, gave students a chance to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting.
They learned the fundamentals of bricklaying, including how to mix mortar correctly, establish a level line, and lay bricks and blocks with precision. This practical experience is incredibly valuable, as it directly relates to their VET course and helps them develop the skills needed for a successful career in construction. Students were also fortunate to visit one of the new sites under construction at SFC, again seeing Construction in action.
A big thank you to Luke Matthews for providing our students with such a great learning opportunity. The skills and confidence they've gained will undoubtedly be a huge asset as they continue their studies.
