Congratulations on a fantastic Term 3. It has gone super-fast, and it doesn’t surprise me that it feels that way when I reflect on last week and this week… Here is a list of just the ‘extra’ things we have done or are doing from last week and this week alone…

Concert: A huge shout out to Dallas for all her work and preparing the students. Please pass your feedback on to Dall and let her know how good the concert was! To all the wonderful performers at the Junior School Concert yesterday – CONGRATULATIONS. The gym was packed out once again and the OG economy came to a grinding halt as families piled in to watch the performers do their thing. Congrats to all involved from our school rock band - New Generation, to the staff performance where we saw some hidden talents come to shine. How good was Ms Wright using her AUSLAN skills to sign Johnny Farnham’s 'You’re the Voice'. But most importantly, how was the confidence levels in the performers?! Their smiles and excitement became infectious. I hope you have all purchased the link (which also helps us offset the costs of the production) so you have a keepsake and wonderful memory of the day. Parking: A few families have reached out about recent parking fines and issues in the streets. Please be aware that COGG are responsible for signage and local laws, not us at school. If possible, try to park a bit further away and enjoy the walk, walk or ride to school or drop your children a little further from school and walk with mates.

Oval: Each year in Spring we try to give the oval and grass a little break and some much-needed love after being heavily used during the year. This Friday, groundskeeper Mick will begin to aerate the oval, add fertiliser and seed. Then early next week, the Menheere family are donating a significant amount of loamy soil for Mick to spread and fill holes and give the seed some fresh soil to grow in. Can we please stay off the oval during the holidays and I’ll confirm early next term when we can return to using it. It is a wonderful asset that needs a break to recover and grow again. Thanks for your support here.

Handrails: Looking forward to seeing the temporary fences move and have some pathways open very soon. Again, we appreciate the patience of the community while these enhancements are being done. Still lots to happen in Asbury St and near the Year 3 portables with stairs and ramps to be installed.

Camp Australia School Holiday Program: This upcoming school holidays Camp Australia will be running their school holiday program out of Surfside Primary School. Families are able to sign up via the Camp Australia Website.

Teachers: Thanks for another amazing term of learning, teaching, caring and wonderful activities and opportunities. Your dedication to the school and students is second to none! Rest up please!

Enjoy the Spring break everyone and hopefully some warmer weather.Don't forget to pack your school hats for Day 1 Term 4! School returns on Monday 6th October with the last day being Friday 19th December – It’s a long term!
