Education in Faith

Education in Faith encompasses the following areas: Religious Education, Prayer, Liturgy and Sacraments.

Lord, You said,

“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"

(John 10:10)

 We are called - to love;

to care for one another;

to include one another

 and remind one another of each

and everyone's priceless value

 as being made in the image

and likeness of our God.

We pray that you are OK.

 Last Thursday, we acknowledged and celebrated R U OK? Day. This annual event reminds us of the importance of reaching out to others, especially those who may be experiencing emotional struggles, social isolation, or loneliness. As a Catholic faith community, we are called to show care and compassion by asking family, friends, and colleagues, “Are you OK?” and by offering support to those who may be finding life difficult. Staying connected and taking the time to have meaningful conversations can make a real difference in helping others through challenging times.

St Vinnies Winter Appeal

Thank you to all families who generously donated to the St Vinnies Winter Appeal. Your kindness and generosity have made a real difference in the lives of those doing it tough during the colder months.

Last Friday, Br Doug collected all the donations and has begun distributing them to various organisations and families in need. He was truly overwhelmed by the incredible response from the St Fidelis community and deeply grateful for the quality and quantity of items received. Through your contributions, we are living out our call to serve others and showing compassion to those most vulnerable. The Winter Appeal is a powerful reminder of how, when we come together in faith and action, we can provide warmth, comfort, and hope to those who need it most.

 On behalf of St Vinnies and our school community, thank you once again for your continued generosity and support.

What’s Happening in Religious Education in Term 4

As we enter our final term of the year, the children will be engaging in a variety of rich learning experiences in Religious Education that connect deeply with our faith tradition:

October – The Month of Mary

During October, we honour Mary, the Mother of Jesus. The children will learn about the importance of Mary in our faith and explore the Rosary as a way of praying and reflecting. They will be encouraged to see Mary as a model of faith, trust, and love.

November – All Saints and All Souls

In November, we take time to remember the saints who inspire us with their lives of holiness and service. We also pray for all souls, especially those who have gone before us. This is a time for the children to reflect on the meaning of remembrance, gratitude, and hope in eternal life.

December – The Season of Advent

As the liturgical year comes to a close, we begin the season of Advent, a time of waiting and preparation for the birth of Jesus at Christmas. The children will explore the themes of hope, peace, joy, and love that guide us through the four weeks of Advent. They will be invited to reflect on how they can prepare their hearts and actions to welcome Jesus into their lives.

Through these celebrations and reflections, the children will continue to deepen their understanding of our Catholic faith and how it shapes the way we live each day.

The parish is running the RCIA program (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) for adults inquiring about becoming Catholic. For registration or more information please contact the parish at BMCC@cam.org.au or 9380 1023.

God bless and have a great week.
