Science/STEM

Term 4 - Chemical Science

Foundation - That's my hat:

In Foundation classes, our scientists are exploring Chemical Science through a unit of work called "That's my hat." From mixing colours to experimenting with different substances, students are learning to identify various materials and their properties. This h

ands-on approach allows them to develop their observation and analysis skills.

Grade 1/2 - All Mixed up:

In Grade 1/2, our budding chemists are exploring mixtures. They have been experimenting with various combinations to understand how substances can be separated or combined. Their enthusiastic approach to learning has been wonderful!

Grade 3/4 - Melting Moments:

The Grade 3/4 classes are exploring the concept of melting from a scientific perspective. Through engaging experiments, students are discovering how heat changes the state of matter. Their curiosity and excitement has been terrific to watch!

Grade 5/6 - What's the matter:

In Grade 5/6, students are exploring states of matter. Through exciting hands-on activities, they are learning about the properties of solids, liquids, and gases. They are discovering how matter can change its state through heating or cooling, fostering an understanding of the world around us.

STEM

Coding - Code a classmate:

Students have been exploring the fascinating world of coding! Through the "Code a classmate" project, they are learning how to program to solve various challenges.

Garden:

Our school's garden is thriving, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our students, who have been experimenting with growing tomatoes, capsicum, and pumpkin from seeds, learning about the importance of sunlight, watering, and nutrients for plant growth. In our brand new garden bed we are growing beans and pumpkins, planted by our students from their own seedlings.
