From the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

School Improvement Plan (SIP)

Having conducted our National School Improvement and Catholic Identity Reviews, the Leadership Team is currently working on our School Improvement Priorities and School Improvement Goals.

School Improvement Priorities are the identification of specific areas or themes of focus for school improvement for the duration of the School Improvement Plan. A priority is a short and meaningful statement which is a theme drawn from the recommendations of the NSIT School Review and/or Catholic Identity School Review report.

School Improvement Goals are clear statements that specify what the school’s desired improvements are, and for whom. School Improvement Goals provide evidence that the priority has been achieved. School Improvement Goals are concise statements that are aligned with the priorities of the SIP. We will have no more than three School Improvement Goals for each of the priorities.

Once the Priorities and Goals have been determined, I will share with the College Community.

Official Opening of Years 1 - 4 Learning Space

I am excited to announce that the name of our new Years 1-4 Learning Building is "Kildare" in honour of the profound legacy and charism of St. Brigid of Kildare.

St. Brigid of Kildare, an exemplar of compassion, knowledge and service, embodies the very essence of our Identity and Vision at St Augustine's College. Through her unwavering dedication to education and her compassionate care for the marginalised, St. Brigid provides us with a name for nurturing young minds and hearts.

The name ‘Kildare’ serves as a tangible reminder of St. Brigid's transformative influence on the community of Kildare, Ireland. Her establishment of a vibrant monastic centre for learning, characterised by its inclusivity and focus on nurturing both intellectual and spiritual growth, mirrors our own commitment to providing a holistic education to the young learners within our care.

In the spirit of St. Brigid, the "Kildare" Learning Building will be a space where curiosity is ignited, where knowledge is nurtured, and where the seeds of empathy, kindness, and service are sown. This building will serve as a place of learning, where our Years 1-4 students will embark on their educational journeys, guided by the principles of our patron saint.

Installation of Fence

As communicated with parents last week, during the upcoming Christmas school holidays, we will install a new fence between the College, Church and Presbytery. This decision has been made to ensure the safety and security of our students.

The wellbeing of our students is our highest priority, and this new fence will serve as an additional measure to safeguard them during their time at St Augustine's College.

In addition to prioritising child safety, this new fence will also provide an extra layer of security for our school community. Regrettably, we have experienced instances of damage to the school premises after school hours and unfortunate theft of valuable items.

The fence installation will not impact parents or students during drop-off and pick-up times. The gates will remain unlocked during these times, ensuring that there will be no disruption to our routine. We want to maintain the ease and convenience for parents while still strengthening the overall security of our College. In the event you have a scheduled meeting with a member of staff outside drop off/pick up hours, please approach the College through reception.
