Year 3/4 Report

It’s crazy to think we are already halfway through Term 4! The students in 3 / 4 have been working hard on a number of exciting topics and projects.

In Literacy, our 3 / 4 storytellers have begun planning and drafting their end of year narratives. Students have been learning elements of a story such as characters, setting, plot and themes to make their story come to life. We have been investigating different language devices and ways to make our writing engaging. Students are eager to share their narratives with you at the end of the term.

In Mathematics, we’ve journeyed into the world of angles, capacity and volume. Students have been drawing, classifying and measuring angles, and have used their knowledge of right angles to compare angle size. On Friday, students will have the opportunity to use protractors to measure angles. Students have also delved into the concepts of volume and capacity. These hands-on activities have made learning these concepts a lot of fun.

For inquiry, students have been embracing digital technologies by exploring coding and alternative forms of communication. Students have learnt to code simple programs. They were also given the opportunity to discover the worlds of Braille and Morse code and were fascinated when given the opportunity to write their name using both forms of communication.

As the second half of the term approaches, we look forward to seeing the progress of our grade 3-4 students.
