2024 Transition

Information, schedules and processes

We are well into 2024 planning. Thank you to all parents and carers who shared their feedback on classes and any clashes or considerations to be made. The leadership team will be reviewing each entry separately over the coming week. Class Creation is a very complex process, with the aim to create balanced and equitable classes that lead to the best possible learning opportunities for all students. Below is the information that has been previously provided on Compass.

Student Transition:

This year, we have been reviewing the schools transition processes and how this can be strengthened, especially for students moving between cohorts, such as from Foundation to Year 1, Year 2 to Year 3 and Year 4 to Year 5. This year, students will participate in two familiarisation sessions, where they will spend time with their 2024 cohort, before meeting their 2024 teacher and class. This allows students to become familiar and comfortable with different teachers, rooms, spaces and students.

Below is the schedule for these sessions.  Please note, Year 5 students on Somer's Camp will be absent from the first familiarisation session. This has been considered, but as these students are already familiar with the cohort, operations and teachers, we have decided to move forward with this date.

Particular attention is being paid to the Foundation to Year 1 transition, as the three Foundation classes will be equally split across 6 Year 1/2 classes. To support this, foundation students will be participating in more sessions with the Year 1/2 cohort throughout the remainder of term.
