Parent Information Evening for 2025 Year 7s On Wednesday, 30th October, we had the pleasure of welcoming families of our 2025 Year 7 cohort to Greensborough College. This was a fantastic opportunity to build excitement for the transition to secondary school, and the evening was met with great attendance and energy. The event featured excellent speeches and musical performances that truly showcased the talents and aspirations of our students. It was a heartwarming reminder of the vibrant community we have here at Greensborough.
Graduation Ceremony It was bittersweet to farewell our Year 12 students of 2024 at their Graduation Ceremony. This milestone celebration was a fitting end to their journey at Greensborough College, and we wish them all the best as they step into the next exciting chapter of their lives.
Year 8 Camp to Safety Beach Our Year 8 students enjoyed a memorable camp at Safety Beach, filled with fun, collaborative activities. From beach games to team challenges, the camp offered a chance for students to bond and strengthen friendships in a relaxed and supportive environment. The joy and laughter were contagious, and it was wonderful to see everyone embracing the spirit of teamwork.
Year 9 City Camp The Year 9 City Camp was a highlight of the term, offering students a chance to explore Melbourne through both classic and modern activities. From the Eureka Skydeck to the Queen Victoria Market, and unique experiences like teppanyaki dining and virtual reality, there was something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed a morning jog around The Tan with Pat Willach and a group of keen Year 9 early birds—a brilliant way to start the day! My heartfelt thanks go to Year 9 Year Level Leader Wendy Rowe for her exceptional leadership and organisation, and to all staff who supported the camp.
New Headphone Policy As part of our ongoing focus on fostering a positive learning environment, we are implementing a new headphone policy. Students may use headphones in class only when it directly supports learning activities and with teacher permission. Headphones are not permitted in the yard. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work together to create an environment that prioritises focus and connection.
Procedures and Routines
In Term Four, we introduced our Greensborough College procedures and routines to promote a positive and structured learning environment. These routines ensure consistency across the school and support all students in meeting expectations.
Start of Lesson
We wear the correct uniform and bring required equipment to class.
We arrive at class on time.
We enter the classroom when invited in by the teacher.
We keep laptops closed until directed.
We begin our entry task promptly.
During the Lesson
We follow our instructional model to stay focused and engaged.
End of Lesson
We complete our exit task.
We help pack away equipment and reset the room.
We leave the classroom when dismissed by the teacher.
These routines have been well-received by students and staff, creating a calm and purposeful atmosphere that supports learning and collaboration.
School Values Awards Our school values—Courage, Aspiration, Respect, and Equality—are at the heart of everything we strive for at Greensborough College. I’m thrilled to announce that this year School Values Awards will again be awarded at our Night of Excellence. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate students who embody our values and make a positive impact on our school community.
