At Calm Corner, we recognize that students often face a lot of pressure—whether it’s homework, exams, social interactions, or just the overwhelming pace of daily life. For some, this can lead to anxiety, stress, or sensory overload. Our club was created as a safe haven where students can take a step back and tap into their own sense of calm.
We provide a variety of sensory tools and activities tailored to help students relax and manage their emotions. Whether you need to calm your mind, engage your senses, or just take a break from the rush, Calm Corner is here for you.
Throughout the year we have enjoyed tapping into our 5 senses targeting our sight, smell and sound. This term we have enjoyed using our touch with our new resources such as our beanbag toss and Lego!
Sensory overload is a real challenge for many students, especially in a school environment where stimuli are constantly shifting. The power of sensory spaces like Calm Corner lies in their ability to allow students to take control of their environment, adjusting it to suit their needs. Whether it’s through tactile tools, calming sounds, or simply a quiet retreat, these environments provide students with the opportunity to reset and return to their work feeling refreshed and focused.
As we move through the school year, it’s important to remember that taking care of our mental and emotional well-being is just as crucial as academic success. Sometimes, all it takes is a quiet moment to centre yourself, and Calm Corner is here to provide that opportunity.
