Dear Families of OLSC

This will be our 2nd last newsletter for the year - it's truly amazing how fast this year has gone.  

Bunnings BBQ

Tomorrow we have our Bunnings BBQ which is a major fundraiser for our school.  Please come and buy a sausage off the team at Hoppers Crossing Bunnings.  Let's hope the forecast 10 - 20 mls of rain skips the Hoppers Crossing area.  

School Colour Run

One he most exciting day of the year for the kids at OLSC is our annual school colour run!

It is a great community event where parents and families are invited to come watch and cheer on their children.

Spread the word and ask your family and friends to donate any amount they are comfortable with. Pass on the trybooking link or QR Code for them to donate.

Big Summer Read - Wyndham City Libraries 

The Big Summer Read is taking place at all Wyndham City libraries over the summer holidays. This is an initiative that aims to combat the 'summer slide' where children often don't pick up and read books over the holidays. The Big Summer Read runs from 1st December 2024 until 31st January 2025. Register and participate for free at https://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/kids-big-summer-read . Pre-registration begins on 6th November this year.

Drop Off Time Reminder   

In the last few weeks there has been an increasing number of students being dropped off or arriving at school early - even as early as 7:30.  We do appreciate that families are very busy in the morning however I remind everyone that the drop off time is from 8:30 am.  Prior to this time there is not any supervision outside and so for the safety of all I ask that students do not arrive arrive prior to 8:30am.  

There is before school care available for those that may need it.  

Are You Moving On??  

At the moment we have waiting lists in almost levels in the school.  If you are planning on moving house and not returning to OLSC in 2025 can you please let the office know.  This will allow us to confirm placement for the people on the waiting list.

Saturday 30th November - OLSC Hosting the Bunnings BBQ in Hopers Crossing 

Wednesday 4th December - Year 6s attending MacKillop for orientation 

Friday 6th December - OLSC Colour Run, all welcome (wait until you see who we are sliming) 

Monday 9th December - Step Up Day, your students will be with their teacher for 2025 for part of the day 

Friday 13th December - Whole School Assembly 9:00 am 

Friday 13th December - Year 6 Graduation Mass 6:30 pm
