Year 5 Update

Upcoming Learning for Term 4, Weeks 7 & 8

Reading- To continue reading our class novel Wonder. This text give us the opportunity to look at different character perspectives whilst performing our literature circle roles.
Writing- To utilise the Writers' Workshop Writing process to plan, draft and publish an information report.
Maths- To demonstrate our understanding of different multiplication strategies.
Inquiry- To develop our understanding of the demographics, landscape and culture of Europe, North America and Asia in relation to Australia.
Social and Emotional Learning- To identify help-seeking strategies, and to understand different ways to manage stress.

22nd November- SRC Dress as Your Letter Day- Gold coin donation to It's Okay to Not be Okay Foundation.

27th November- Curriculum Day (no school)

11th December - Little Day Out - excursion to Social Fair $40 to be paid prior to 6/12/24

Year 6 Uniform Ordering

As the year comes to an end, it’s time to start thinking about Year 6 uniforms. Below is the website link where you can now place your orders. We ask that all orders are submitted prior to the 26th of November to ensure suitable time for them to be made.

If you would like check sizes before ordering, please contact your child’s teacher to visit 5D’s classroom.

Available times to come include: 8.30-8.45 (18th November- 22nd November) and 3.15-3.45 (20th - 22nd November). Any other times are by appointment only.

2025 School Captain Candidates

Reminders

HATS

Hats are now compulsory. Please check if your child has their named hat at school. Students without hats are required to stay in an undercover area for sun protection.

HOMEWORK:

Math - Students should work on their My Numeracy goals as part of their regular homework routine.

Reading - Students are expected to read every night, with their progress tracked in their diaries or homework books.

Inquiry - Students are working on a "Travel the Globe" project, where they will complete weekly tasks focused on their chosen country, with only their summaries required for submission.
