Thank you for another wonderful year in the art room. We have achieved so much in what feels like a short amount of time. Every year level has been drawing, painting, sewing, sculpting, cutting and gluing and anything else you can think of. It has been an absolute pleasure to see them all grow in confidence and achieve work they are proud of. I think sewing was the highlight of the year, with many students surprising themselves with how well they did.
Some students participated in a number of extra projects throughout the year. Some for production, the Christmas concert and a new outdoor mural that we have been slowly working on. I look forward to seeing how this one will turn out next year.
Bring on the art show for 2025!
Foundation students have been making Christmas cards and bell bracelets for the last couple of weeks at school. They also contributed to our giant colouring in project to brighten the corridors for the new year to come.
Year One and Two took what they learnt across the year and chose their own projects, some painting while others dove into the scrap paper to come up with some 3D sculptures. They contributed to our giant colouring in page for our final display.
Year Three and Four students finished up their final artwork for the year with beautiful results. We explored Japanese Notan art. This style explores positive and negative space, creating a design that balances the black and white shapes. Students designed their piece in their art books before drawing and cutting out the complex work.
Year Five and Six students created a great variety of designs to complete their Elements of Art books. These little books used an image of their own creation to demonstrate Line, Colour, Value, Texture, Shape, Space and Form. With everything from drawing and painting to collage and even clay for some, these little books had it all.
