Youth Council: Applications now open

Are you aged between 14 and 24? Do you want a stronger youth voice in Greater Bendigo? Are you a big-picture thinker? Then Youth Council is for you!

 

Youth Council has been highly successful since its inception six years ago, with Youth Councillors providing input towards over 50 City plans, strategies, policies and projects. 

There are up to 18 spots available, and we are looking for young people from all backgrounds, identities, abilities and cultures to truly represent Greater Bendigo’s young people. So why not apply?

Eaglehawk Children's Festival: Sunday 17 November

Code Camp

16–17 January, 9:00am–3:45pm

Code Camp is once again being held at Girton's Junior School this summer. Students from ages 5 to 13 can design, code, create and have fun with friends at Code Camp.

Young Women in Leadership Award

This award recognises young women aged 16 to 19 for demonstrating leadership skills and commitment to public service and civic causes, encouraging them to continue their participation in public and political life. Our Youth Mayor Lilly Correll was the 2024 International Awardee. Applications are now open, closing on 31 January 2025.

 

Eligibility

Women aged between 16 and 19 as of 1 April each year, who demonstrate evidence of the following:

  • Active commitment to volunteerism
  • Experience in local government, student government, or workplace leadership (paid or unpaid)
  • Volunteer leadership achievements
  • Knowledge of Zonta International and its programs
  • Support of Zonta International's mission of building a better world for women and girls.

Application process
