Green Team News

Summer is finally here, bringing plenty of sunshine and warm weather as well as some rain and humid conditions. The plants in Brendan’s Garden have thrived on the unusually tropical weather, especially the zucchini which have grown to an enormous size in the space of a week! Prepare to be amazed when you see the photos below.

The lettuce, snap peas, corn and tomatoes are also growing well and some were ready to be harvested last Friday.

The broad beans have now finished and it was time to remove them from their garden bed to make way for some more tomato plants. By the time we return to school in 2025, we will be harvesting cherry tomatoes by the bucket full.

A special thanks to all the 2024 Green Team, you have all been enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking. It has been a pleasure to watch you work as a team and grow in knowledge of how plants grow. I look forward to working with more students in 2025.
