Our Grade 3 and 5/6 students have been sewing tiny hearts as part of the 1000 Hearts Project. Founder, Sarah de Jong began the project in 2016 and has been encouraging people all around the world, to sew their own pocket hearts. You can read about her mission here. In the spirit of acts of kindness, we are making one heart to keep and hearts to give to someone special. We are so grateful to Mrs Hunsdale who has cut out hundreds of tiny hearts in beautiful colours ready for us to sew!
We finished our cookies! They look so colourful with their felt decorations. Good enough to eat!
Grade 1s are in the middle of making giant lollies, or bon bons. We pretended that we were wrapping presents. This week we decorate with felt, pompoms, sequins and buttons.
Foundation artists decorated fabric in preparation for constructing their soft toy owls. We learned about tying, stuffing and turning in-side-out, adding and placement of features. Our owls are absolutely adorable! Take a look at how proud our students are.
It's been a bumper year of creativity in the Art Room! This is our final Art newsletter for the year. I would like to thank our school community for celebrating our young artists and their incredible creations. We look forward to sharing more next year.
